The zoo was founded in the 1930’s and is set in 100 acres. The zoo offers a great day out with something for everyone. Over 7000 species of animal and plant can be found here and conservation plays a large part of Chester Zoo.

BEESTON CASTLE

Beeston castle stands on a 500 foot high rocky summit overlooking the Cheshire plain, with stunning views of the Pennines in the east to the Welsh hills in the west. The castle was finally destroyed at the end of the Civil War.
